{"id":36,"date":"2007-08-01T16:42:39","date_gmt":"2007-08-01T22:42:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sashen.com\/blog\/36\/our-real-greatest-fear\/"},"modified":"2007-08-02T00:38:54","modified_gmt":"2007-08-02T06:38:54","slug":"our-real-greatest-fear","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sashen.com\/blog\/36\/our-real-greatest-fear\/","title":{"rendered":"Our REAL greatest fear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,<br \/>\nbut that we are powerful beyond measure.<br \/>\nAnd that the moment we realize this, we will<br \/>\nget hit by a bus and lose control of our bowels.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.<br \/>\nBecause that light shines on our darkness&#8230; and sometimes<br \/>\nin the corners of the darkness where all those spiders are.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,<br \/>\ngorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?<br \/>\nWhich is a good question to ask when we put on<br \/>\nthat tube top, or Speedo, and look in the mirror.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">Actually, who are you not to be?<br \/>\nYou are a child of God.<br \/>\nBut, clearly, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t look anything like Dad&#8230;<br \/>\nand not so much like Mom, either. Hmmm.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">Your playing small does not serve the world.<br \/>\nOf course, serving the world is a BIG job,<br \/>\nso, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s probably smarter to play small.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">There is nothing enlightened about shrinking<br \/>\nso that other people won&#8217;t feel insecure around you.<br \/>\nBut it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a good strategy if you want that<br \/>\ninsecure person at the bar to sleep with you.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.<br \/>\nAnd once we do, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll need a whole new wardrobe.<br \/>\nAnd probably a different car. Not a hybrid.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">It is not just in some; it is in everyone.<br \/>\nThough, WAY more in some than others. I mean, duh!<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give<br \/>\nother people permission to do the same.<br \/>\nWhich is why we should be wearing sunglasses<br \/>\nand something with an SPF of at least 15.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">As we are liberated from our fear,<br \/>\nour presence automatically liberates others.<br \/>\nAnd as we get off our self-righteous high horse,<br \/>\nothers will stop trying throw rocks to knock us down.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"center\">(Our REAL greatest fear is that we will be quoted by a much-loved world leader and that he will forever get the credit for what we wrote)<\/p>\n<p align=\"right\">&#8211;Steven Sashen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure.
