Dreams sometimes play out in our sleep all of the things we miss in our waking hours: changes, surprises, challenges and unknown expectations.... these dreams are the sub-conscious ineracting with the conscious; often we don't understand them. Other times they play an extended game of 'tag' with the most mundane event in any given day - and we awaken only to say: WOW... what the heck was THAT??? I feel dreams are an extension of our waking thoughts. They're not always a message. Sometimes they're the period (full-stop) of a thought. We continue and most often forget the dream. How long is the life of a dream? As long as we remember it. How long is our life? Perhaps the one single question we fear most and are least able to answer. God determines the length of our life; we are responsible for its breadth and depth. So, fine friend, Dream On: it's a gift :)

This post on dreams reminds me of a Leonard Cohen song, "Anthem" from his album, "The Future:

You can add up the parts
but you won't have the sum
You can strike up the march,
there is no drum
Every heart, every heart
to love will come
but like a refugee.

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
That's how the light gets in.
That's how the light gets in.
